Awards Day!!!

• 1st
• we started the day with breakfast as usual.  Then we talked about upcoming field trips and homework.  Then we started reading the next chapter of our book "THE BFG".  Finally, we lined up and got ready for the Awards Assembly.
• 2nd - Awards Assembly
• Today we celebrated all the hard work and dedication of our students and teachers.  It was a beautiful ceremony and everyone was happy!  Good work Class 3:302!!!
• 3rd - Math Block
• Today the students worked on their LAST PBA for third grade.  They took their PBA for Chapter 12.  I read the questions to them and showed them how to start and then they finished their last PBA.
• 4th - Class Novel
• We finished reading the chapter we started and then we read the next chapter.  The book is getting really good but we are only HALF WAY done!  The BFG is a great book for students because they have to really think of what the Giant is saying because his English isn't so good!  Students have to decode and construct meaning of made up words.  Great practice!  We did an activity with the chapter on the smartboard to let the kids have some fun while we read.
• 5th - Lunch
• 6th - Physical Education
• 7th - Class Novel - ReadyGen 3B.12 writing activity
• We finished up by answering questions from the two chapters we read of the BFG today.  Checking for comprehension is key to making sure students are understanding and internalizing what they are reading.   Then we worked on a fun activity for the writing section of ReadyGen 3b.12 using the illustrations to build understanding.
