For Test Prep we read an article about Black Beard the Pirate. The article was really interesting and we used it as a jump off to open some maps and look at the areas he used to sail around South Carolina and North Carolina.
We did lesson 2b.15 with a focus on main idea and also how to explain relationships and interactions between two more more individuals and events in history. We also looked at sequence of a section and ended with doing a graphic organizer for the section as well as answer several comprehension questions.
The students had the remainder of the period to work on their Hero PowerPoints.
Homework:
- Read 30-45 minutes, summary log
- Vocabulary - I Don't Mean Washington DC
- Work on Hero PPT
