- We started with Breakfast and collecting homework.
- Then we did Test Prep by reading "The Grass" by Emily Dickinson and answered three questions. I let the students try and answer then first, then we went over each of them to make sure that students knew the right answer and WHY, and how to select the best when you are not sure.
- Next, we read pages 114-121 to finish our text Angel Island. Our focus was on looking for figurative language (similes and metaphors) and also to make sure we understood the main idea of each section. Close reading and craft and structure!
- After they finished their work locating similes and metaphors on pages 114-116, students were released to complete their Hero PPT's.
Homework:
- Read 45 minutes, log
- Two Sided Practice "Comprehension / Vocabulary"
