- 1st / 2nd - Math Block
- I did a quick review of lesson 8.4 because I felt like a few students were still unsure of themselves. After reviewing, we moved to the last section of this chapter, 8.5 which was solving word problems involving multiplication of fractions and whole numbers. The students get the multiplication process, just still having trouble converting mixed numbers to improper fractions and improper fractions back to mixed numbers. MORE PRACTICE IS NEEDED!
- Students worked on section 8.5 as well as a double sided handout that practiced the easy multiplying with fractions and whole numbers, and the other side had the more challenging multiplying mixed numbers by a whole number. PRACTICE PRACTICE.
- 3rd- Math and ELA test prep
- 4th - P.E in the Gym with Mr. Hoffman
- 5th - ELA
- Session 16 in our unit on making big connections when reading. We did the mini lesson and then moved to a reading/writing combo. We read chapters 23 and 24 and students had to answer 4 questions from the reading. Today we practiced just RESTATING the questions and ANSWERING the question.
- When they finished, they had a assignment called "TORNADO" which focused on finding the theme of the story. In this assignment, they had to use text evidence to prove their theme.
- 6th - Lunch
- 7th - HAPPY BIRTHDAY GENARO!
- Well, his birthday was actually during Mid Winter Break, but I wasn't able to fit it in before break so Mom and I agreed to do it after. She really treated the class to something quite special.. Papa Johns Pizza, Caprisun juice, muffins, goodie bags, and bags of popcorn. I have tons of pictures to share when I download them from my phone!
