Wednesday, October 3rd


  • Math Block
    • We started looking at patterns in multiplication.  When you multiply a math fact by a power of 10, you should see the pattern.  Ms. Baez, the math coach came in and co-taught the lesson and group work with us.  She will visiting our class on Wednesdays!
  • Reading
    • The focus today was reading with a plan.  Working with your partner to make goals and set higher plans.  That means deciding how much you are going to read a day.  Using the sticky notes to do comprehension checks, predicting, vocabulary, and questioning.  We wanted to leave knowing that Good Readers...

  • FIRE DRILL!!

  • PE
    • The kids had gym with Mr. Hoffman today.
  • Social Studies
    • We reviewed what is geography and how is New York State and New York City similar and different.  We read about three places that are unique in New York State - The Catskills, The Adirondack, and The Beaches of Long Island.   Students went into their groups to decided how these places were similar and different to NYC!
Homework:
  • Math - GoMath Practice for 2.3
  • ELA - Read text - third close read page
  • Writing - finish Personal Narrative Story
  • Reading - Read for 30 minutes, use sticky notes, fill in reading log
