A Very Cold Thursday

Today we moved into Chapter 6 of Heart and Soul.  This section was about the challenges slaves (and Native Americans) faced as they moved west after the end of slavery and the failure of reconstruction.  We looked at the theme of Freedom (at any cost) and what Freedom is worth.

Students worked in groups to complete their independent practice (working with theme and answering comprehension questions).

We did a quick write activity and then had time to finish testing and to read quietly.

Homework:

1. Read for 45 minutes, fill out log, get signatures

3. 502 - Finish THEME activity
